Hello Boris,

JS : "Thank you for accepting us. We are very pleased to be able to share this moment with you.
You are an artist with many skills and you have cultivated for many years all these skills.
To begin with, after all these years of experience, what do you like about your artistic life?"

BS : "
In truth, I like everything because I do it out of passion. Actor and model are jobs I’ve dreamed of doing since I was young. In front of a camera, I am the happiest. I really have fun and that’s what makes me vibrate the most : acting, taking poses, doing stunts too. I am also a living model for a sculptor.

All my life I’ve tried to diversify, do and learn a lot of different things. Whether professionally or personally, because on the one hand, it is extremely rewarding, and on the other hand, because I am much more likely to be taken on projects that I like, having acquired different skills. And today I’m starting to live from it. It’s amazing and it’s a great opportunity. Plus, I know it’s just the beginning ! I sincerely wish it to everyone : to be able to do what you love, and live from your passion, are a real privilege."

JS : "Do you see links between these different areas : acting, doing stunts, modeling... Are they complementary? Or, on the other hand, do you consider that these are totally separate professions?"

BS : "I would say both. Many people completely dissociate them, and devote themselves exclusively, either to acting, to doing stunts, or to modeling. As far as I’m concerned, I’m passionate about all three. So I wanted to link them.

Before devoting myself fully to my true artistic path, I worked as a bodyguard and security driver and personalities. So I did a lot of training, and I continue to train to be always operational. But today, I orient my learning specifically for cinema and television.

In general, I work more as an actor, because this is really my favorite field. But I also do stunts, especially fight scenes, which are my specialty. I also trained in stunts with vehicles, through my training as a security driver, with Mr Christophe Gury, who is one of the best trainers in the world, regarding secure transport. I think productions are happy to have an actor who can also do his own stunts. I also do a lot of photo shooting, fashion shows, modeling contest...

So I wanted to link these three worlds, which is proof that they can be totally complementary, even if we can consider them in a totally distinct way. I always assume that anything is possible in life. It is enough to believe in it, to have the dedication, and to give oneself the means to go after one’s dreams. Leaving your comfort zone can only bring positive things, as long as the heart guides. Of course it can take time, as in my case, because I did everything by myself, but above all, I always knew that I would succeed.

Life is a great and beautiful adventure. We are all here to learn, discover and evolve. And sometimes you also have to take risks, that’s how you move forward.

My first training as an actor and my first professional photo shoot date back to 2002. 2006 was also a rich year, with my first television shoots.

At the time, I made round trips Toulouse/ Paris, because since my five years I lived in Toulouse. And it’s true that I had difficulty projecting myself to Paris. But I knew that one day, I would have to settle there. The day I felt ready, I went up. And I’ve been living there for six years now. I ended up getting used to the capital, and today I am happy there. I really like this city, and in my job, almost everything goes through Paris. It is also a geographical location that allows to travel easily, which is another of my dreams : to travel around the world, thanks to my job, and also for pleasure. I like to discover new landscapes, new cultures, and I like contact with people."

JS : "Among your artistic experiences, have some marked you more than others?"

BS : "All my experiences have really marked me. We learn from each of them. Meetings are also extremely important in this environment. For me, each helped me to progress, and led me to be the man I am today. Hoping that I could also bring something back to all these wonderful people, because that is also the meaning of life. Existence is a perpetual sharing. So yes, all these experiences and encounters have been beneficial."

JS : "To go back to your stunt skills, could you tell us a bit about training ? What do we learn, and how ?"

BS : "In France, stunt training is very interesting and high level. Some trainers, who are also adjusters, are very well known. Like Alain Figlarz, who trained me at his school Figlarz Action, and with whom I worked, who is also an actor. There is also Olivier Schneider, and Patrick Vo, among others, with whom I also trained, within their group Umen Stunt. Kefi Abrikh, Daren Nop, with whom I also trained. Manu Lanzi, and many others... Campus Univers Cascade is also a very good stunt school. And they all represent French know-how internationally.

We learn a lot during these internships. Obviously, for people who have never done fight or stunts, it takes a little longer. But as I often say, when will and dedication are present, then everything becomes possible...

I have been practicing martial arts and combat sports since I was six years old. I practiced a lot, and specialized mainly in Taekwondo and Hapkido (Korean martial arts). I also do all kind of boxing, and I also made brazilian ju-jitsu, to be complete. I trained for twenty years under the direction of Michel Della Negra (former coach of the French teams of Taekwondo), in one of the largest clubs of the southwest : the Shaolin, led by Lilian Froidure. At the same time, I also trained, and I continue to train, alongside a friend of almost twenty-five years, who is like my brother :  Sébastien Arino, who has many Taekwondo/ Hapkido clubs in Languedoc Roussillon, and who also teaches in many international internships. I also made many demonstrations in the south of France (Palais des sports, Zénith, Palais des congrès...). I remember in particular a demonstration that we made in a cinema multiplex in Toulouse, with the demonstration team of the Shaolin, for the release of the film Blade lll. People had loved it !

So I came naturally to the cinema. These basics helped me get started. Bruce Lee and Jean-Claude Van Damme were also a big part of it ! Besides, I started bodybuilding thanks to JCVD, and also Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, of which I remained a very big fan. Bodybuilding that I also practiced in competition, having been part in 2017 of the French team of Fitness and Natural Bodybuilding, within the AFBBN, alongside my coach and national coach Jérome Petit.

To get back to the stunts, there are also of course specialties. For example, scenic fight, that is to say fight scenes as seen in movies or series. We learn to fall, to strike, to dodge, to play with camera angles so that it looks real. We amplify all movements in cinema, unlike reality. There are also stuntmen specialized in fire, mechanical stunt, etc... Some stuntmen prefer to specialize in a discipline, which they like more, while remaining versatile. As far as I am concerned, I also try to learn as much as possible, in order to be as complete as possible."

JS : "In general, what are your current artistic desires?"

BS
: "My dream is to really succeed as an actor, to have more and more interesting roles, and to be able to play on many different registers. My physique leads me to play a lot of cops or thugs, which I really like ! I have a lot of energy, and action suits me very well.

I also appreciate being able to play more inner things. The ideal role for me would be to play a cop, with all the action that this implies, hardness, etc... And at the same time we feel a fragility, a crack under the shell. This ambivalence is very interesting to interpret. Especially since I am someone extremely sensitive.

I learned with the method of Actor’s Studio, which consists in using one’s emotions, to go and find them deep within oneself, if necessary, in order to serve the roles, provide them with credit, and nourish them with our sensitivity. And when you play with your heart, it comes naturally ! The most important thing is what you release, what you give, to your partners, or alone in front of the camera, and that shows through on the screen.

My goal is to touch people, make them react, give them emotions. I want to play everything, especially since it is by playing that we learn the most.

I really want to succeed in cinema and television. In movies, series, and commercials. I also intend to continue shooting photos, in order to also evolve in the world of fashion, because these are jobs that have always made me dream ! And I intend to succeed in France, and also all over the world.

I will continue to follow my path, wishing everyone to find his own. For that, you have to know how to listen to your heart and your intuitions, it is really important. And despite the failures we can face, despite the time it takes, we must continue to believe in it, and give ourselves the means to achieve it. This is how we succeed in everything, both in our profession and in life."

JS : "It was a joy Boris to share with you !"
